Hammer Hill, Kowloon
Lam Tin,
Kowloon
These are two projects in Hong Kong for the Hong Kong Housing Authority (1978 - 1980). These projects were part of the Home Ownership scheme subsidised by the Hong Kong Government, enabling people for the first time to "own" their own apartment.
Lam Tin was the first project where an architect used a coloured tile facade in Hong Kong, and it stands out as a breath of fresh air amidst all the other white housing towers. Both projects incorporated an underground parking facility for resident's cars. Hammer Hill also incorporated a commercial shopping centre.
